Dr. Nick Dagenais leads our team with a simple but important directive: make every patient feel like a cherished member of our family.

Dr. Nick Dagenais
The power of the animal-human bond has always fascinated Dr. Nick. It was this passion that led him to the University of Tennessee’s Veterinary School. His diverse training included working with livestock, participating in the Great Smoky Mountains Black Bear monitoring program, and gaining valuable experience with exotic animals, from cobras to polar bears, at the Knoxville Zoo.
Born in Rapid City, South Dakota, Dr. Nick had already lived in eight states by eighth grade. His mother was a teacher, and his father was an engineer whose job kept the family moving. After graduating, Dr. Nick settled in Massachusetts and became Medical Director and Chief Surgeon of one of the region’s most successful animal hospitals.
At Dagenais Veterinary Clinic, Dr. Nick focuses on improving the health of our companion animals. In his precious downtime, he relaxes while playing with his four dogs: CB, Belle, Ezmeralda, and Truly. In the summer, when not at the clinic, you can find Dr. Nick tending to his gardens.

Dr. Markeya Williams
A native of Northern New Jersey, Dr. Markeya Williams is passionate about geriatric and exotic animal medicine. After completing her undergraduate studies in Animal & Poultry Sciences at Tuskegee University in 2002, she obtained a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2006.
Dr. Williams is also highly skilled in comparative anatomy, pain management, exotic animal surgery and soft tissue/dental surgery. Her colleagues often tell clients that “She will see any species that walks, flies, slithers, or swims through the door of the clinic”.
Alongside a thriving career in academia (Cornell, UPenn, and Harvard), where she served as clinical veterinarian and surgical faculty, Dr. Williams has served as Medical Director in corporate General Practices & Urgent Care clinics. She also supports several rising and aspiring veterinarians via mentorship and lecture series across the country.
In her spare time, Dr. Williams enjoys international travel solo & with her husband, art collecting, painting and spending lazy weekends with her senior rescue pets, Mack Daddy, Daddy Mack and Sir Humphrey Bogart.

Dr. Bridget O’Donnell
Many of you have met Bridget, as she’s worked for us part-time over the last year. Born and raised in Mattapoisett, Bridget followed her lifelong love of animals and her dream of becoming a veterinarian early on. She began working as a kennel assistant at a veterinary clinic in Fairhaven, spending summers and school breaks there before starting veterinary school.
Bridget attended the University of New Hampshire as an undergraduate, with a focus on Animal Sciences and Dariy Management. After, graduating in 2011. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Ross University in St. Kitts in the West Indies in 2016, spending her final year at the University College Dublin, in Ireland.
Importantly, Bridget shares the Dagenais approach to veterinary medicine: a focus on the best outcomes and overall health of the patient, eschewing the corporate-driven emphasis on billing.
Bridget lives in Mattapoisett with her husband, John, their daughter, Rosie, and what she describes as a “small herd” of golden retrievers and a flock of chickens.
When not at the clinic, Bridget can be found reading, cooking or pursuing her passion for sailing.
Please join us in welcoming Dr. Bridget O’Donnell to her new role as Associate Medical Director at Dagenais Veterinary Clinic, and in celebrating he continue commitment to our patients and community. We are so excited to have her with us in this new role, as we grow our clinic.
Decades of expertise in pet healthcare come together in our colorful, carefully designed rooms. Our brand-new custom installations are the fulfillment of Dr. Nick’s lifelong dream: running his own clinic in a unique, warm, and welcoming environment.
